Andre Gingras|Ramallah (Palestine) - El Funoun Dance Troupe (2009/2010)

El Funoun (www.el-funoun.org) is the most prominent Palestinian folk dance company in the world and has produced many shows and had many tours. In recent years, they have been increasingly open to influences from contemporary dance. Andre Gingras, director of Dance Works Rotterdam/Andre Gingras (www.dwrotterdam.com) was interested in teaching in the region for some time and was fascinated by the work of El Funoun. He carefully considered how to introduce new techniques and ways of thinking about choreography while respecting the traditions and background of the company.
