‘LOST, OR THE IDIOT’S GUIDE TO AMERICAN TV SERIES & PALESTINE’, AHMED EL ATTAR (EGYPT)

Free Entrance

A presentation about Ahmed El Attar’s new work in progress (for professionals only). The process of Ahmed El Attar and the Temple (Independent Theatre) Company’s work is based on questions, trials and errors and a long and uncertain road towards the unknown. In this new piece, El Attar questions the reasons behind his strong links with Palestine. Why does a 42 year old Egyptian with a wide open door to the world still concern himself with the Palestinian conflict? What are the mechanisms behind his strong feelings and emotions about the subject? And how does the essence of American TV series reflect the American vision about the conflict and its solutions?

Ahmed El Attar is an independent theatre director, translator and playwright who lives in Cairo and works in the Middle East and Europe. He is the founder and artistic director of the Temple Independent Theatre Company in Egypt and the founder and managing director of the Studio Emad Eddin Foundation.

This Professional presentation is a co-production between Studio Emad Eddin Foundation (Sweden), Dancing on the Edge (The Netherlands) and Orient Productions (Egypt), within the framework of the Euro-Arab Multidisciplinary Cultural Exchange Project, 'The J.M Liverato Project'.
