Mud, winner of the 2010 Audience Award in the Fajr Festival in Teheran, is based on the timeless story of a man who makes a living creation which then goes on to rebel against its maker. Stunning in its dark visuality and skilful mime, Mud displays the satirical symbolism and convincing performance that is Khaseb’s trademark. Mud has been performed in Teheran and Seattle, and will soon go on tour in Europe. 

Yaser Khaseb comes from a theatrical family. He studied acting and mime at Tonkabon University and received his Master’s degree in acting from Teheran University. His work combines dance, mime, theatre and puppetry. His pieces have won prizes at the Boshehr Mime Festival and the Student International Puppetry Festival, and have been performed at the renowned Teheran Fadjr Festival. Since participating in the 2007 and 2009 Dancing on the Edge Festivals, he has been in great demand as an artist, performing in theaters and festivals all over the world. In 2009, his collaboration with Duda Paiva, ‘Cloud’ (co-produced by Dancing on the Edge), was highly acclaimed by press and audiences alike.
