Since the successful festival in December 2009 where we presented 60 performances in 5 Dutch cities, the Dancing on the Edge organization has been busy with a number of projects. These include training, symposiums, research and artistic residencies partly funded by both the European Commission and the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The next festival is planned for December 2011. A call for entries will be publicized in the fall, but interested artists can contact us about their pieces.

The universal themes of longing and waiting for a loved one are demonstrated in this poignant piece danced by two women, showing two sides of the psyche of a single character. Intense and expressive movement combined with video projections give a unique interpretation to the sentiments of anger, frustration, hope and hopelessness, placing them in an original light and a broader context.

Pegah Tabassinejad
Pegah Tabassinejad is a dancer, choreographer, theatre director and actress. She holds a Bachelor of Art in drama and directing from the University of Art in Tehran and is a member of the Bazi Company (www.bazitheater.com). She works regularly as an actress and director’s assistant with the renowned actor and director Attila Pesiani. Pegah has created several of her own dance and theatre performances, including Charisma, which has had numerous performances in Iran.
